It is always wise to look ahead but difficult to look further than you can see. ~Winston Churchill

There is a spot on the MVSTA trail system where a local glass blower has set up a sort of sculpture. I am fascinated by glass as it is and to have blue glass out in the sunshine is such a visual treat. I stop each time I see this and just admire the sun coming through the glass. This arm will move depending on how the wind is blowing and so it is never in the same spot when I ride by. At times I can see blue spots on the trail where the light is shining through.

I have my camera with me when I go outdoors and I am always intrigued by the many compositions just waiting to be discovered. Sometimes they are little snips of reality and at times I like the large and panoramic experience that is searching for me. This particular frame is reminiscent of a large glass eye or a the final cut for your vacations last day. The director yells CUT and it is time to go home. Take this one last little memory and tuck it away for a rainy day.

I started with a digital photograph and used a HDR process to tone map the light.
I am interested in photography as an "unusual" or "unique" image making process. In other words I enjoy starting with a photograph of an ordinary scene or subject and then I try to make it my own by adding unusual processing techniques. I hope you enjoy viewing my work as much as i enjoy creating it.

"Nestled in a high pocket of the North Cascades, the Methow Valley is the Pacific Northwests destination for trail-based recreation. Sunshine and clear blue skies. Sunflower and lupine-filled hillsides. And plenty of wide open space in which to lengthen your limbs and stretch your soul. You'll find outings here for every skill level: gentle valley-bottom trails perfect for a youngster's first tour in the woods, a riverside picnic by the local swimming hole, or sub-alpine mountain routes that will enchant and challenge even the most seasoned mountain athlete.

There are three, charming, small towns to explore, all with a unique character: Twisp, Winthrop and Mazama. Indulge in locally grown organic produce at a farmers market, enjoy the thriving arts community, linger at the bookstore, sports shop or bakery, or participate in events and festivals most weekends of the summer. Feeling ambitious? Test your skills in a recreational or competitive running or bike event or try out the scenic road biking on virtually traffic-free, riverside, country roads."
