Description
Raspberry Reflections by Omaste Witkowski transforms a simple garden harvest into a colorful contemporary still life. Brilliant red and pink raspberries gather inside a reflective bowl surrounded by flowing areas of turquoise, blue, silver, cream, and black, creating a composition that moves between recognizable still life and abstraction.
The raspberries came from an heirloom plant in Omaste's garden that was given to her by her mother, whose own plant grew in an earlier family garden. That connection gives the fruit a history extending beyond a single harvesta living plant passed from one garden and generation to another.
The artwork began with an original photograph and was transformed through Omaste's digital mixed-media process. Photographic forms, reflections, and colors became the foundation for painterly texture and flowing abstract detail, while the vivid raspberries remain the visual center of the composition.
The reflective bowl creates a world of its own around the fruit, bending color and light into circular forms that echo the individual berries. Bright raspberry reds contrast strongly with cool turquoise and blue, giving the finished artwork both warmth and visual energy.
Raspberry Reflections works especially well as colorful still-life art for kitchens, dining spaces, contemporary interiors, and for collectors drawn to gardens, food, family traditions, and artwork that finds beauty in ordinary moments.
