Is It Real Or Just A Fantasy?

Is this art landscape scene real or is it just a fantasy?

Does this creature exist in real life or is it a figment of my imagination painted onto a fantasy canvas?

AND/OR does it matter?

For art to be beautiful, does it need to be real or is it just fine living in the realm of imagination?

The answer is obvious when it's an abstract piece we are talking about but what about landscapes or other depictions of actual places?

I know what I think but what about you, what do you think?
